Certain foods are known to cause the body to be more acidic. If the body is in a chronic state of acidity, it can facilitate the body to be in a chronic state of inflammation. When the body becomes too acidic, enzymes, that help our bodies work well, reduce in their effectiveness.
The acidity can also irritate tissues and organs causing inflammation. Lastly, an acid environment in our bodies causes loss of minerals. We need minerals in our bodies to help give support to our bones and teeth. Conditions such as osteoporosis, rheumatism, fractures, and neuritis can become more likely.
If you believe your system could be too acidic, you could take a urine pH test to help confirm and/or consult a physician. Strong acidifying foods such as meat, poultry, cold cuts, fish, seafood, eggs, cheese, animal fats, peanut oil, whole grains, breads, pastas, etc. can be balanced with alkalizing foods such as potatoes, colored vegetables, corn, milk, bananas, almonds. Our focus is to keep a good balance of foods coming into our bodies to help us maintain a healthy body chemistry balance.
